Slate Heron delivers educational programmes on topics drawn from published behavioural economics and consumer psychology literature. Our offerings — including the Reflection Notebook Workshop, Behavioural Reading Group, and The Considered Spender Cohort — are structured as facilitated group learning experiences.

Our programmes are educational in nature and are not, and must not be taken as, a form of psychological therapy, financial advice, legal counsel, or any other regulated professional service. We do not provide individual assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, or personal financial recommendations of any kind.

If any material covered in our programmes raises personal concerns that fall within the scope of a regulated professional service, participants are encouraged to seek appropriate independent advice from a qualified practitioner.

Programme places are offered subject to availability. Submitting an enquiry or expression of interest does not constitute confirmation of a place. Enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of our written confirmation and, where applicable, receipt of the programme fee.

We reserve the right to decline any enrolment at our discretion, including where we consider a programme to be unsuitable for a particular individual's needs or circumstances. In such cases, any fees paid in advance will be returned in full.

Participant numbers are capped per programme as follows: Reflection Notebook Workshop — up to 12 participants; Behavioural Reading Group — up to 15 participants; The Considered Spender Cohort — up to 15 participants per cohort.

Programme fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are inclusive of any materials described in the programme outline (printed reading sets, workbooks, and so on). Fees do not include travel, accommodation, or meals unless specifically stated otherwise.

Payment is due in full prior to programme commencement unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer to the account details provided in our confirmation correspondence.

Fees are subject to review. Any change to the applicable fee will be communicated before enrolment is confirmed, and you will not be charged a higher amount than the fee in effect at the time of your confirmed enrolment.

Cancellations by Participant

• Cancellations made 14 or more calendar days before the programme start date — full refund of fees paid.
• Cancellations made 7 to 13 calendar days before the programme start date — 50% of fees paid will be returned.
• Cancellations made within 6 calendar days of the programme start date — no refund is available, though we may at our discretion offer a transfer to a future programme cohort.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 working days.

Cancellations by Slate Heron

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any programme where enrolment numbers are insufficient, where a facilitator is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, or for other reasons beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, enrolled participants will be offered a full refund or a transfer to the next available cohort.

Slate Heron is not liable for any costs incurred by participants arising from a programme cancellation, including travel or accommodation costs.

Participants are expected to attend sessions punctually and with reasonable preparedness (for reading-based programmes, this includes completing assigned readings ahead of each session). The learning value of our programmes depends in part on group engagement, and we ask that participants respect the space, the facilitator, and other group members throughout.

Attendance of fewer than the minimum required sessions does not entitle a participant to a partial refund or to additional compensatory sessions.

We ask that mobile devices be set to silent during sessions. Recording of sessions — whether audio, video, or screen capture — is not permitted without prior written consent from Slate Heron and from all other participants present.

Printed materials provided as part of a programme — reading sets, workbooks, and facilitation guides — are for the personal use of the enrolled participant only. They may not be reproduced, distributed, shared digitally, or used for commercial purposes without the prior written permission of Slate Heron.

Where materials include extracts from third-party published works, those extracts are reproduced under applicable fair dealing provisions. Rights in those extracts remain with their original rights holders.

All original written content, facilitation frameworks, reflection prompts, and programme structures developed by Slate Heron remain the intellectual property of Slate Heron.

Our programmes depend on a respectful and supportive group environment. Participants are expected to engage constructively, listen attentively, and refrain from conduct that disrupts the learning of others. Discriminatory language or behaviour of any kind is not acceptable in our sessions.

Slate Heron reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a session or withdraw from a programme without refund if, in the facilitator's reasonable judgement, that participant's conduct is materially disrupting the experience of others or is otherwise inappropriate.

Slate Heron's programmes are offered as educational experiences. We make no representation that participation will produce any particular personal, behavioural, or financial outcome. The insights participants may gain from attending depend on their own engagement, reflection, and circumstances.

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Slate Heron's total liability in connection with any programme shall not exceed the programme fee paid by the relevant participant.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for personal injury caused by negligence.
